Seven-layer stone lithograph. Ink on Japanese bamboo washi paper. The image is printed to the full size of the paper.

The text reads: “When we moved to England my dad told me: “This is how you pronounce your name now”. I had to wear a school uniform. I changed my handwriting. I learnt how to play cricket, and rugby. I ate roast beef, and dry salad. I tried to watch soap operas. It wasn’t enough. They bullied me. They threw their bags at my head. They pulled on my satchel. “Two world wars and one World Cup”. I didn’t understand. No one ever bullied me for being English in Germany. I tried to be more English, to speak “more” English. I was never enough. It could never be enough.”
